I had the pleasure and honor of working with him and being his student during my journey as a diver, and I can't recommend him highly enough. His passion is contagious, and the way he shares it with others is truly remarkable. He is highly professional and has an exceptional talent for teaching what scuba diving is really all about!
I was super nervous about doing my DMT in Bali with strangers and so far away from home. But I had the time of my life training under Sam. He's very very knowledgeable and patient and I learnt so much under him. I liked that while he did teach seriously he also kept it light with jokes which made me and the other DMTs at ease. I would have done my IDC with him as well but unfortunately COVID struck and I missed out on learning again from him. Hopefully you guys can learn everything under the sun from him, won't regret it!
I completed my PADI Instructor Course with Sam a few years ago, and it remains one of the best experiences of my life.
The training was challenging, rewarding, and a huge amount of fun from start to finish. Sam was great to spend time with, incredibly approachable, and his knowledge of diving seemed endless. No matter what question was thrown at him, he always had the answer and the ability to explain it in a way that made sense.
Unfortunately, life has taken me away from diving for now, but if I ever return to the sport and decide to pursue technical diving, there isn't another person in the world I would trust to train me other than Sam.
If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about developing skilled, confident divers while keeping the process enjoyable, I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
I had the incredible opportunity to complete several courses with Sam, including TDI Advanced Nitrox, TDI Decompression Procedures, TDI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV), and SDI Sidemount Diver. Every course exceeded my expectations in both quality and professionalism.
From the very first dive, it was clear that Sam is far more than just an instructor. He is a mentor, a perfectionist, and someone with a genuine passion for technical diving. His calm and encouraging teaching style, combined with his exceptional attention to detail, creates an environment where you feel challenged, supported, and motivated to improve.
What stands out most about Sam is the way he teaches. He does not simply show you how to perform a skill; he makes sure you understand why it matters. Whether it is gas planning, team procedures, buoyancy, trim, propulsion techniques, or problem-solving under pressure, Sam takes the time to explain things properly and adapts his teaching to the individual diver.
One of the absolute highlights of my training was the wreck and penetration diving in Malta. Diving historic wrecks in sidemount and DPV configuration was unforgettable. Sam planned and guided safe, structured penetration routes that were challenging, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. These dives brought the training to life by combining real-world application with some of the most impressive underwater environments in Europe.
Sam manages to create the perfect balance between high standards and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Safety is always the priority, but the dives are also enjoyable, memorable, and motivating. You never feel rushed, and every question is answered with patience, honesty, and deep knowledge.
Training with Sam has made me a more capable, confident, and thoughtful diver. More importantly, it has sparked an even deeper passion for technical diving.
I cannot recommend Sam highly enough to anyone looking to get into technical diving or take their existing skills to the next level. I will definitely be back for more.
It's hard to describe Sam in a few lines because you need to "live" the experience to work and learn with him! He is a genuine guy, thoughtfull and helpfull. He will not hesitate to roast you if your trim is shit or you made a few beginner mistakes. If you are open to learn and interested in what he offers than he is perfect for the job. I did the tech 40 and 45 but wasn't quite ready for the tech 50 so Sam told me I should wait and finish it when I am ready! My Divemaster and OWSI went very smooth, if you do your part, Sam will take care of the rest.
