Fessej Rock is a pinnacle rising out of deep water off Gozo's south coast, near Mgarr ix-Xini. The walls drop steeply all the way around, cloaked in colourful growth, and because it sits out in the blue it draws in shoaling fish and the odd passing pelagic. Circling the pinnacle as it falls away beneath you is a lovely, simple dive plan with a real sense of being out in open water.
